​                                Myakka River Post-Hurricane Cleanup


Sarasota Bay Watch, Suncoast Waterkeeper, Suncoast Aqua-Ventures, and North Port Friends of Wildlife are partnering to clean up the Myakka River in and around Harbor Cove home community and we need volunteer help!

February 25 @ 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Clean-up Location:
Harbor Cove Community: 499 Imperial Drive, North Port, FL 34287

Safety Meeting 8:15 AM. Cleanup Begins 8:30
Return at noon for lunch.

Hurricane Ian blew a tremendous amount of debris into the Myakka River.
Please join us in removing debris and restoring this Wild & Scenic River!

14 kayaks will be provided – sign up early to reserve a seat. 
Or bring your own kayak or shallow water boat.
Work gloves, trash bags, maps, and equipment will be provided.

Non-boaters will be needed to retrieve trash or clean areas from the land.

Wear shoes that you are Ok with getting muddy and wet. Clothes that protect legs and arms are recommended. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen.

There is limited parking – carpool if you can.
